Eindhoven University of Technology offers several possibilities for Dutch hbo students to continue studying at TU/e. You can start, for example, with a minor at the TU/e instead of the minor at your own school.
You can also choose a Master's program after gaining your hbo (Higher Professional Education) diploma. For example because you want to do scientific research later, or you want to deepen your knowledge in a specific field, or you want to improve your career opportunities.
However your hbo diploma doesn't give you direct access to a Master's program at TU/e. There are two ways to be admitted to a TU/e Master's program with an hbo diploma: you can follow a transition program, or take a TU/e minor in combination with a shortened transition program.
Transition program
A transition program is intended to allow you to reach the scientific level of a TU/e Bachelor's diploma. In general a transition program consists of second- and third-year Bachelor's courses. Most Master's programs have a transition program representing 30 ects, although the size of the program depends on the specific Master's. After successfully completing the transition program, you can enter a two-year Master's program at TU/e as an hbo student.
TU/e minor
You can also opt to take a TU/e minor already during your hbo program. After that you can take the shortened transition program. The Industrial and Applied Mathematics and Industrial Design programs do not yet offer a TU/e minor for hbo students in the coming academic year. You can find more information about the TU/e minor for hbo students here.
