Architecture, Building and Planning

Master programs

The architectural engineer has a big responsibility in seeking an optimal balance between science, technology and design. But the web of construction also includes economic, legal, political and environmental aspects.
The Netherlands is undergoing continuous demographic change in terms of social structures, and will be increasingly faced with important choices and developments, in which sustainability is an important principle. It is not only sustainable construction that is important, but also energy-saving construction methods and energy-neutral buildings, e.g. to reduce the dependence on non-renewable fossil fuels.

The construction industry will have to respond to this, and society must provide a continuous stimulus with innovative and market-oriented concepts. This is the challenge facing the architectural engineer!
