Knowledge valorization

One of the key aims of Eindhoven University of Technology is knowledge valorization. TU/e’s strong sense of corporate social responsibility drives the university to ensure that the results of its scientific research are used effectively. Thus, for example, the university helps develop new products and services and launch technology companies.

Stimulating the Economy
Social themes and strategic industry roadmaps are vital starting points for our scientific research. With its fundamental and applied research, TU/e is helping generate solutions to present and future challenges. In this way, we stimulate the growth of the Dutch and European economies. Our focus is on encouraging certain targeted innovations, making scientific knowledge
accessible to trade and industry and society, and training
entrepreneurial talent.

As an academic institution with comprehensive programs, we are on a par with the world’s elite learning institutions in a number of crucial science and technology fields. The advantage of TU/e’s relatively small campus is the ease with which personal contact and personal attention are possible. Together, all these strengths have enabled us to maintain close ties with the high-tech industry for many years.

Where Innovation Starts
With the slogan “Where Innovation Starts” we are emphasizing our significant role in initiating innovation and the importance of internal and external cooperation. We are continuously translating our scientific knowledge to meet the everyday needs of trade and industry, and we do this in cooperation with other knowledge institutions and government bodies both within the Netherlands and abroad. In this way, TU/e plays a pivotal role in helping its own region develop into a knowledge hub.

All the university’s activities in the field of knowledge valorization are clustered in the TU/e Innovation Lab . It is the organization for encouraging innovation, knowledge and technology transfer, and business development, and it also serves as the Eindhoven University of Technology’s incubator.
