Colloquium Prof. Daniele Marchisio

Datum:
19 October
Tijd:
10:30 - 13:00

Daniele Marchisio graduated in Chemical Engineering cum laude in 1997 at Politecnico of Torino and obtained his PhD from the same university in 2001 (in collaboration with Iowa State University and with the Laboratoires des Sciences du Genie Chimique, Nancy, France). From 2001 to 2004 he carried out post-docs at Iowa State University (with Prof. Fox) and at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (with Prof. Morbidelli). In 2004 he became assistant prof. at Politecnico di Torino, in 2010 was promoted to associate prof. and in 2013 was habilitated as full prof. He was invited as visiting prof. at Aalborg University in July 2004, at Chalmers University in August 2006, at University College London, from April 2007 to August 2007, March and July 2008 and at CSIRO-Australia from December 2012 to February 2013. His main research interests are in the field of multi-scale modelling of multiphase polydisperse turbulent reacting flows with different computational models ranging from full-atom and coarse-grained molecular dynamics, to population balance modelling and computational fluid dynamics. Main areas of applications are: simulation of crystallization and precipitation processes, reacting turbulent gas-liquid and liquid-liquid systems, self-assembly of macromolecules in solution and of particle transport and deposition in porous media.
