Sustainability is an integral feature of the education, research and auxiliary services (including accommodation) of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

In its Strategy 2020 TU/e focuses on three Strategic Areas central to the sustainability goals of our society: Energy, Smart Mobility and Health.

TU/e has, in the context of VSNU, committed to a covenant (MJA-3) that intends to reduce energy use by 30 percent between 2005 and 2020. The covenant also covers sustainable purchase practice.

TU/e is currently working on the implementation of the Living Lab: the engine of sustainable innovation in which education, research, management, communication and industry collaborate on generating the solutions of tomorrow.
