A key success factor for the institute is the establishment of an Advanced Study Center for complexity at the TU/e campus.

What is the Advanced Study Center?
This center will serve as an intellectual home for original thinkers and scientists and as a TU/e scientific seminar and discussion center. Although our main topic is molecular complexity and the center will be the home of ICMS, the center will also have a university-wide scope, far beyond the institute\'s own fields of research. It will serve as a place to discuss topics in science and engineering in a comprehensive manner. The CERES building will be renovated for this purpose. The aim is to establish a world-leading and highly visible institute at TU/e on one of the most challenging scientific topics of the coming decades.
