The EM group contributes to applied electromagnetic research by developing new modeling strategies and applying state-of-the art modeling to applications from wireless communication, radio astronomy, radar, space technology, EMC/EMI, bio-electromagnetics, optical fibers and components, RF and Microwave technology, imaging, and lithography. Special focus is placed on antenna systems.
The research programme of the EM group is divided into four disciplines:
- Antennas and antenna systems
- Radio communication
- Computational electromagnetics
- Electromagnetic field measurements for experimental validation of the theoretical antenna and radio research.
These research subjects are chosen on the basis of the current needs of society and industry, the expertise of our group as developed over the years, and the synergy with our colleagues both within the TU/e and further afield.
The EM group delivers a wide range of BSc and MSc courses.
Chairman: prof.dr. A.G. Tijhuis.
