Lectures & courses

It is possible to follow the following lectures and courses:

College Magnetisme

The course intends to provide a general introduction to the field of modern magnetism. Recent developments, such as miniaturization of magnetic materials and technological applications, are integrated in the course syllabus.

Nanofysica

Nanostructures are nowadays of great interest. There are several new techniques that enable the fabrication as well as the investigation of nanostructures. In this course the physical properties and fabrication process of metallic and semiconductor-nanostructures will be looked at.

Spintronica en Nanomagnetisme

Three successive lectures will address the most prominent hot topics of today’s research on magnetic structures and devices:

  1. Preparation, as well as structural, electronic and magnetic properties of nanostructures magnetic materials;
  2. Spin-polarized transport in magnetic multilayers, and the injection of spin-polarized currents into semiconductors, including the implementation of spin-selective scanning-probe microscopies;
  3. Micro/nanomagnetism and ultrafast magnetic processes, as well as pulsed laser techniques to investigate these processes.

Novel Magnetoelectronic Materials and Devices

As a part-time professor in FNA, R. Coehoorn has given a number of lectures in the field of spintronics, nanomagnetism and devices.
