In the area of robotics for Care we develop algorithms for a www for robotics, like Roboearth, and we are actively participating in the Robocup initiative. The homecare robot Amigo (pictured below) has been realized and is under continuous development with the aim to serve as a both versatile and affordable platform for real life testing in various Care scenarios.
For Cure, Sofie is the first Dutch master slave for minimal invasive surgery. Furthermore, we focus on small scale precision robotics, such as the robot for eye surgery. An important challenge is the design of haptics control in order to achieve performance in both positioning and force feedback.
