DOT Course development 2021-2022 “chemical calculus”

Please note: this activity is only offered in Dutch

Professor John van der Schaaf presented the updates that he has instituted in the TU/e course ‘Chemical Reactor Engineering’ at the Teachers’ Day that took place on January 27th, 2021. This course changed from a classical frontal design into a course with a few modules with short explanatory videos through which the students can individually study the course materials. Each module will be finished with a digital exam. Students can retake the exams multiple times, but eventually the course needs to be passed. Exams are offered through Moodle and are different for each students because Moodle constantly generates different numbers for a set of arithmetical problems.

This teacher’s team will look into the possibility of applying the design of Chemical Reactor Engineering to the ‘chemical calculus’ course that is taught at pre-university high schools.
