Documents for admission

The following information only applies to students with a non-Dutch prior education.

Please be aware that we only will start to assess your application when your online application form has been submitted before the deadline, with upload of all required documents including proof of payment of the application fee.

What you need to upload for a Bachelor program application

Upload in the online application form in Osiris: 

  • If you already have your High school diploma & final grades list, please upload the last 3 years of grade lists. Or if you are still in your final year of High School please upload 3 grade lists leading up to your final year. These must be certified copies*.
  • If your diploma and grade list are not available in English or Dutch, please include an authenticated translation with your application documents.
  • Proof of language proficiency in English. If you apply for the bachelor program Biomedical Engineering or Medical Sciences and Technology you also need to provide us with proof of language proficiency in Dutch. 
  • Proof that you have transferred the application fee to TU/e or proof of Dutch nationality.
  • Proof of financial means (applies to students with non-EEA nationality). The proof of financial means is a statement from your bank showing you have access to a minimum amount of (equivalent to) €12,000. The bank statement may not be older than 3 months.
  • Copy of your passport.
  • Curriculum vitae.

What you need to upload for a Master program application

Upload in the online application form in Osiris: 

  • Certified copies* of your Bachelor's degree in the original language. If you do not yet have a final degree certificate, please upload a certified copy of your most recent academic transcript. If you have taken further academic programs (such as a Master's degree or PhD) please also upload your diploma/degree certificate and most recent academic transcript.
  • Certified/authenticated translation (to English) of your degree and academic transcript (if necessary)
  • Proof of language proficiency in English.
  • A copy of your passport (or if you do not yet have a passport, a certified copy and authenticated translation of your birth certificate).
  • A concise description of subjects from your previous degree(s). N.B. this is not your academic transcript, but a description of the subjects in your degree program. This is usually the subjects of your Bachelor's degree, but if you are taking or have completed a further degree course, please also provide a description of these subjects, if relevant to your application.
  • Résumé / curriculum vitae
  • Motivation letter
  • Two letters of reference
  • A summary of your dissertation (in English)
  • Proof that you have transferred the application fee to TU/e or proof of Dutch nationality.
  • Proof of financial means (applies to students with a non-EEA nationality). The proof of financial means is a statement from your bank showing you have access to a minimum amount of (equivalent to) €17,000. The bank statement may not be older than 3 months.

Additional application documents for specific Master's programs(see online application for details):

  • Applicants to the specialisation Architectural Urban Design and Engineering of the Master’s program Architecture, Building and Planning should submit a portfolio
  • Applicants to the Master's program Industrial Design should submit a portfolio and an overview of competences by expertise areas
  • Applicants to the Master’s program Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Embedded Systems, Information Security Technology, Chemical Engineering and Innovation Management should fill in the additional application form (see online application)

*certified copies are copies with an original official stamp to verify that the copies are true copies of original documents. This official stamp may be from one of the following:  the educational institution from where you gained the diplomas / an embassy / a solicitor or notary / local town or city council / the TU/e. 

Application documents submitted to TU/e become the property of TU/e. Application documents will not be returned. Documents from candidates who are not admitted to or do not enroll at TU/e will be destroyed one year after the close of the application period.
