  3. Check your eligibility for this program

Purpose of and reason for the admission requirements for the Computer Science and Engineering track within CSE program
The admission requirements for Computer Science and Engineering are defined in such a way that the students fit to and are able to successfully complete the Master Program Computer Science and Engineering. This way a student is able to apply the engineering methods to computer science questions in the master program. The student has to perform group work and be able to present work, in writing or orally. Since the program is taught in English, the level of English when entering the program needs to be sufficient.

At least one course in one of the following advanced topics in computer science:
    • computer networks (mandatory for students intending to specialize in System Science)

Note: Credits according to European credit transfer system (1 ECTS is 28 hours of student work/study). Credits need to be on a Bachelor level (level 6 in European Qualifications Framework).

Method of assessment (by the department admissions board):

This means that we must have received your complete application on 1 May. We advise you to register as early as possible and to ensure that your complete application is preferably received at least one month before the application deadline. If your university offers an online verification service, we ask you to request your university to provide us with login credentials by email (to io@tue.nl) so that we can verify your diploma and academic transcript online (subject: online verification).

If your university does not offer an online verification service, we ask you to send us a certified copy of your diploma and academic transcript from your previous education.

    • the educational institution from where you gained the diploma
    • an embassy
    • a solicitor or notary
    • a local town or city council.

If you have not yet received your diploma and official academic transcript, we require an official statement from your university that you have completed your previous education. This statement must be an original document (not a copy) on the universities official headed paper and must contain an overview of your grades per subject. The statement is to be in the English language.

    Important notes:

    • if your diploma and academic transcript is not available in English or Dutch, please include a certified/authenticated translation
    • you can send the certified copies (not the originals!) of your diploma and academic transcript or ask your university to send their statement to:

    5600 MB Eindhoven
    The Netherlands

    • Make sure to send us all your documents at one time, in one envelope. Please do not send your documents at different times, in different envelopes.

If we need to verify a diploma or certificate online in addition to the submitted documents, please let us know by adding a note to the documents that you are sending on paper via post/courier.

    • Make sure to always include your personal student number in all letters and emails to TU/e. This allows us to easily find your information.
    • Please note that for finalizing your enrollment at TU/e, you also need to have done the study choice check (for Bachelor programs with selection: have accepted your place at TU/e) and have informed us through Studielink how you are going to pay/have paid the tuition fee. You can inform us about that as soon as you receive an email from us with more information. You can expect this email mid-June.
