Professor dr. Mark van den Brand (scientific director) chairs the Software Engineering and Technology Research group at the Eindhoven University of Technology since 2006. He received his M.Sc. (1987) and Ph.D. (1992) from the Radboud University in Nijmegen (The Netherlands). He was appointed full professor Software Engineering after being assistant professor at the University of Amsterdam for 5 years and senior researcher at CWI for almost 10 years. In this period he initiated the LDTA workshops that eventually became a successful conference on Software Language Engineering (SLE).
His research interests were and are focused on generic language technologies and efficient software development. Since 2006 he applies generic language technology to design and develop domain specific languages in order to facilitate Model Driven Software Engineering. His research contributes to the high tech industry in the Eindhoven region. He has good contacts with the ESI-TNO, and is closely involved in the High-Tech Systems Center (HTSC) of the Eindhoven University of Technology. He has been involved with the Software Technology PDEng degree program for many years, as supervisor of graduation projects, workshops on Model Driven Software Development, and now as scientific director.

dr. Yanja Dajsuren PDEng (program director) received her PhD degree in Computer Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 2015. Her PhD research covered the automotive system/software architecture and software quality and was conducted in collaboration with DAF Trucks NV and other academic/industrial partners. Since 2015, she was employed as a researcher at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her research interests include software architecture description mechanisms (architecture frameworks, architecture description languages), component-based software engineering, model-based software engineering, and software quality. Prior to her academic career, she worked for 5 years as a senior researcher in the software design and architecture for the consumer electronics domain at Philips Research, NXP Semiconductors, and Virage Logic. She obtained her BSc in Computer Science in 2000 at the National University of Mongolia (NUM) in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where she also worked as a software developer and lecturer. Dr. Dajsuren also holds an MBA degree from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands and a PDEng degree in Software Technology from the TU/e.
