Trainees 2016

Anita Asprovska received her Bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering from the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje, Macedonia in May 2014. She conducted her master studies in Software Engineering TEMPUS, at the same university, with focus on analyzing, designing and documenting appropriate solutions in more than one application domains using SE approaches that integrate ethical, social, legal and economic concerns. During her master studies she was working in an international company “Singular”, as Java Enterprise Developer. While working there she participated in developing web applications for online gambling.
 

Sololia G. Ayelereceived her Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (2011) from Haromaya University, Ethiopia and a Masters degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Ajou University, in South Korea (2014). After graduation, she worked as a Software Engineer for John Snow Inc, Ethiopia. She was also involved in different freelance front end development (2014-2016). She is mainly interested in software architecture and design.

Laavanyaa Balasubramanian received her Bachelors diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2009) from Anna University (India). She then worked for 1 and half years as a Program Analyst for Cognizant Technology Solutions. After reaching Netherlands she decided to pursue Master degree in Business Information Systems (2016) from Technical University Eindhoven. Her thesis project entitled “Hospital Workflow Data Mining for Workflow Analysis” was carried out with Philips research (Eindhoven) was related to data mining and analysis. A generic solution which could be used to verify whether the frequently visited spots or correlated spots are organized efficiently was developed. She is interested in topics related to data science and business process improvements.

Qing Cai received his master degrees in Embedded System Engineering from ESIGELEC in France and Computer System Architecture from University of Shanghai for Science and Technology in China. He did his internship at PSA Peugeot Citroen for the project Personalized Navigation System. Apart from embedded software, Qing is also interested in iOS development in an agile way and published an app on App Store.

 

Weisheng Chen received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Information Management, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan in 2006. Then he received his master's degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Information Management, National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2008. His final thesis project was "GroupNet System Design for Supporting Ubiquitous Learning." After his graduation, he started to work as a software developer in a software company and then joined Chunghwa Telecom as a researcher for six years and specialized in the web systems for the police.

Munkhtuya Dashnyam received her bachelor of computer science degree from National University of Mongolia in 2008. Upon graduation, she worked at IT department of National University of Mongolia as a developer of information system until 2016. During her work, she participated in the development of in-house university information system. She received her master’s degree from same university in 2012. In her master’s thesis, she proposed an applicable approach to detect zero-day malware using a machine learning technique and developed an application as an alternative to the traditional signature-based detection systems. She is interested in data analysis and software architecture.

Bulganchimeg Enkhtaivan received both her BSc and MSc degree at the National University of Mongolia in the field of Computer Science. She worked as a software developer in the IT division at the same university for 4 years. She participated in the web system development and  requirement analysis for University Management System. From 2014, she worked as a BI data analyst/developer  for 2 years. Her main work was focused on software development on the BI platform for banks and retail services in Mongolia. She is interested in software design and project management.

Carlos Giraldo obtained the diploma for Computer Science Engineering at 2014 and the MSc degree in Computer Science Engineering at 2016 from Complutense University of Madrid. His Master's thesis titled "Equipping Agent Framework with Rule-based Reasoning" was assigned and evaluated by the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering from the University of Oulu. During his master he worked as an intern at Oracle in the ACS Service Management department.
 

Dmytro Kondrashov received his BSc degree in Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies (2010) and MSc degree in Automated and Computer-Integrated Control of Processes (2011) from National University of Food Technologies, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Dmytro defended master thesis in the field of Intellectual Expert Systems. His thesis project was dedicated to building a decision support system additionally to a process control. After graduation, he worked at an Ukrainian company “Techinservice” as a software engineer, developing software to control processes of industrial factories. Afterwards Dmytro came to the Netherlands and worked at “Vanderlande” specializing in software development for material handling systems. He has a passion for programming and wants to become a software architect.

Periklis Kyrtsis received his 5-year Diploma from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of the University of Patras, (Greece) in 2014. During his studies he focused on Software Technology and Computer Science. His final thesis was on the field of Augmented Reality and is titled “Presentation of cultural heritage exhibits by means of outdoor Augmented Reality techniques, using Android smartphones”. It involved the design and implementation of an Augmented Reality demo application. His main interest is mobile development.

Ianislav Mintchev received his Diploma in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from the Aegean University of Greece in June 2016 with distinction.  His final project entitled “Factors affecting Cloud Computing benefits and its impact on firm's performance " was carried out at the Delft University of Technology through the Erasmus+ program. As a student, he was the main manager in the Music Team of his university which consisted of forty members and seven bands. He speaks four languages and currently is learning his fifth language, Dutch.

Guido Loupias has been fascinated by computers since he was a teenager, when he taught himself how to program simple games like Tetris. He studied Computer Science at Utrecht University and Software Engineering at the University of Amsterdam. While studying for his bachelors degree, he became acquainted with different ways of programming. He also gained more experience with Linux-based operating systems, and he considers himself to be a command line junkie still. While studying for his masters degree, he became more interested in software architecture and software engineering in practice. He also developed an interest in the history of computing, and he worked as a full-stack web developer. Today, he remains fascinated by computing technology and the impact it continues to have on our society. He admires people like Alan Kay, Douglas Engelbart, Vinton Cerf, and Robert Kahn.

Dmitrii Nikeshkin received his Engineer diploma in Software for Computers and Automated Systems from the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronic, Russia in 2012. His diploma thesis, titled “System of Remote Application Control via Web Browser”, was designed for Institute of remote education. The project can be used for teaching and examining students educated remotely. After graduation he worked as a Development engineer at Novye Telesistemy Ltd for one and a half year, developing web applications and administrating servers. After that he worked as Java developer at EmDev Ltd, developing software on the Liferay platform.

Nityanand Panpalia received his Bachelor degree in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2006. In 2008, he received his Master degree in Software Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. Nityanand did his Master thesis at Intel Technology India Private Ltd. The thesis was titled "Time Based Transaction Stitching" and involved developing time based algorithms to validate Intel's First Generation Quick Path Interconnect Protocol. After graduation, Nityanand joined Intel as a full time employee and went on to work for 8 years, primarily as a Software Engineer, developing in-house JTAG-assisted Debug and Trace Solutions for Intel Architecture. In 2015, he changed roles to become a Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer and received ISO 26262 certification. In this role, he was involved in software verification of Software Test Libraries.

 

Carmina Azevedo graduated her integrated master studies on Biomedical Engineering at University of Minho (Braga, Portugal), in 2016. During her studies, she specialized in the field of medical software applications. Her master thesis is entitled "On the improvement of sleep onset latency detection and sleep/wake classification using cardiorespiratory features". It describes the work she performed during an internship at Philips Research (Eindhoven, the Netherlands), with strong machine learning and statistic emphasis.

Saurab Rajkarnikarreceived his Bachelors in Computer Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University in 2010. Worked for 1 and half years at F1Soft International Pvt. Ltd. in Nepal and was involved with their in-house payment solution web application eSewa and online banking applications. Moved to Leapfrog Technology Pvt. Ltd., also in Nepal. Worked there for 2 years and was involved with the development of a financial web application for Interac Inc. from the US and a groupon type web application also based in the US. Worked mostly with Java (Spring, JSF, Liferay) and PHP (Drupal, CodeIgniter). In 2013, moved to Heilbronn in Germany for Masters in Software Engineering and Management. Completed Masters in September 2015 with Master’s thesis titled, “Automatic analysis and transfer of sensor data from a remote ring controller for an intuitive interaction with electronic devices” (or “Ring Controller” in short) in collaboration with Robert Bosch GmbH. Worked as a Full Stack Developer for 4 months before starting the PDEng course on 31st of October.

Pouya Samadikhah received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Tehran, Iran in 2013 in Computer Science. Then, he joined the EIT Digital master program and received his double degree master of science in distributed systems and services from Aalto University, Finland, and KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden in 2016. During his masters, he worked as a research assistant in Ericsson Research where he has done his final thesis project in the cloud-computing department. His thesis was about the performance modeling of the various components of OpenStack in function of different operating conditions. The result of this project has been presented at OpenStack Summit 2015 in Toronto. He also worked as a Full-Stack software intern for a year in a startup company in the San Francisco bay area, United States. He worked with Python as back-end part and AngularJS as front-end part.

Grace Vasu received her Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, India and her Master’s in Computer Science and Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Calicut, India in 2012. During her studies, she was fascinated by computer architecture. She followed her interests and worked at Intel India at the Intel Architecture group until 2015. Her work was primarily on Intel servers and included simulation, emulation, post silicon validation and customer support. She moved to the Intel Internet of Things Group (IOTG) in 2015 and worked on POCs for the automotive division until October 2016.

Yongchao Wang received his bachelor's degree in Software Engineering at Xiamen University in 2008. After his graduation, he worked as a technical director of a website development team at a local company. About two years later, he became a senior localization engineer and worked in the localization field for six years. Firstly he was the owner of Microsoft’s flagship desktop communication product (Lync for Windows). Gradually he took charge of additional products, which have increasing complexity and equal relevance to Microsoft’s business (Lync Room System, Skype for Business on Surface Hub, and others).

Berihun Fekade Yimam received his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Arba Minch University, Ethiopia in 2007. After graduation, he worked for six years at a software development firm, Cybersoft-intl, in Ethiopia. Then he left to pursue his master’s program in South Korea.  He received his master’s degree in Computer Science from Korea University in August 2016. His master’s thesis was on Recovery of Incomplete Massive Sensed Data in Internet of Things. His research interest is in the area of Cloud Computing, Big data processing, and Internet of Things.
