Degree
Master of Science (MSc)

The human body continuously responds to changes in its mechanical environment. This response is highly complex and occurs at all levels in the body: cells, tissues, organs, and the entire body. This field of expertise is especially fascinating because of the ability of biological systems to adapt to mechanical forces by adjusting their structure, composition and function.

In this master’s track, we apply the basic principles of fluid dynamics, mechanics and biology to study biomedical problems and systems. We study the influence of biomechanics on the pathology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease. We specifically focus on developing (patient-specific) models of disorders of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems.
