Plasma science delivers a fundamental understanding of the behavior of plasmas and is of immense industrial and societal relevance. Plasma technology has a wide range of application areas. It can be used as a light source, as a deposition technology for solar cells, as a particle accelerator for medical research, and so on. The sustainable world of tomorrow would be unthinkable without scientific progress in plasma science and technology.
Skills that will be developed
- fundamental understanding of plasma physics principles
- experience with state-of-the-art experimental techniques and advanced computational modelling
- ability to develop functional applications
