The Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) degree program on Healthcare System design (HSD) and the degree program on ICT are 2-year post-M.Sc. (Bologna Accords third cycle) education and training programs in health and wellbeing technology as well as electrical engineering and ICT development. They are provided by the Department of Electrical Engineering of Eindhoven University of Technology in the context of the 3TU.School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute. It is a combination of courses and workshops at TU Eindhoven and industry based projects on prototype design for health and wellbeing or ICT applications.
During their 2-year education and training program, our trainees will participate in industrial design and development project/projects for 50% to 70 % of their time. The purpose of the engineering projects for the trainees is to show their ability to produce a well-designed solution for a medical/health/wellbeing or ICT prototype. They moreover have to show that they carried out the project in a structured and controlled way. In order to support a high-quality product, this brief memo defines a number of guidelines.
We are continuously looking for new companies to help them to make a step in their product design by offering this approach. With such a project the company may gain new insights, connect with a new network and get a view on new talent. Together we can define new projects for our trainees and want to encourage companies to contact us.
