RF & Millimeter-Wave Circuit Design

Wireless Technologies

Future wireless communication systems will operate at high frequencies and will make use of highly integrated active phased-array antenna technology. This requires experts that combine expertise in Microwave Engineering and Antennas,  and Integrated-Circuit Design. Combining these two areas of expertise in the field of wireless communication, they jointly provide a sound basis for life long learners with a background in Electrical Engineering. Though each course can also be followed individually.

RF & Millimeter-Wave Circuit Design

This second microcredential course, in a series of two, covers the topics on how to derive the RF wireless systems specifications, and how to design the main building blocks of a transceiver, i.e., low noise amplifier, power amplifier, RF mixers, oscillators, and PLL frequency synthesizers. It is divided into two parts: (1) theoretical lectures will cover the basis of RF and mmWave Circuit Design; and (2) design labs will include simulation and implementation of these circuits.

his course is offered in a hybrid setting; classes will be online and on campus. The lectures are available online to watch in your own time and at your own pace. Regular attendance on campus is required for certain practical classes and/or experiments, and also for your exam. During these classes you will join and mingle with the current master students. A schedule will be presented to you before the start of the course.

After succesfully finishing this course, you will receive a digital certificate, called "Microcredential". Read more about microcredentials here.
