“Technology can really change how people think and react to the world. People behave very differently on Facebook than offline, for instance. I am fascinated by data from online activity, to design more comfortable interactions, understand how people feel, and find and predict patterns in reactions and behavior. Wouldn’t it be cool if our online environments could truly reflect our preferences, be more accessible to everyone and make us feel at home?

I chose Eindhoven because TU/e is the only Dutch university to combine psychology and technology, and I immediately felt at home. All TU/e programs are pretty small, so there are almost no barriers for contacting students and teachers and I feel my research is really appreciated. In my future career, I would like to have an advisory position, for example in user research at a company.”
