Pre-Master Innovation Management

Bob van der Meulen

Eindhoven is the place to be with regards to the derivation of technological innovations.

After graduating from the bachelor’s program Business Innovation at Avans, I didn’t really feel like I was done studying. It felt as if I was missing some elaboration that is necessary in order to be successful in this profession. It has always been my ambition to become an entrepreneur and to come up with new innovations. The decision to enroll in the Innovation Management master’s program had therefore been made quite easily. Not only because the master’s program itself is sublime, but also because Eindhoven is the place to be with regards to the derivation of technological innovations. You can definitely feel the ‘why not’ mindset that this city is breathing. That might be the reason why students’ startups like Lightyear, Amber, and Spike originated here.

I had to successfully complete the pre-master track before I could start with the master’s program. The pre-master was pretty hard and at a very high pace, because you’ll have to absorb all the necessary knowledge that is required for the master’s program. This demands a lot from the students and forces them to put everything aside, but if you’re willing to do so it’s fairly doable. Besides, doing a pre-master’s program gives you the opportunity to become familiar with the city and the university.
