Sustainable Innovation

After graduation

Have you successfully completed the Sustainable Innovation bachelor’s degree? Congratulations! Now you can understand a technical innovation and analyze, evaluate and design it from a societal and economic perspective. You have gained useful knowledge about engineering, sociology and economics.

With this bachelor’s, you can immediately start work in the business world, consultancy firms or the government. You can be self-employed or employed as a policy officer or consultant in the fields of sustainability, environmental policy or (strategic) innovation.

An alternative is to join a student team at TU/e or start one yourself. Many students from the Sustainable Innovation bachelor’s make the choice to focus on a student team for one to two years. After this degree, you are a perfect addition to the teams, with the knowledge to oversee the entire process. Plus, you lay a foundation from which you will profit greatly for the rest of your career.

You can also progress from this bachelor’s to several master’s programs at TU/e. You can read more about these below.

Follow-on master’s

Most students choose to continue studying. After the Sustainable Innovation bachelor’s degree, you can go directly to the following master’s degree:

As you also take courses on sustainable technology, you can move on to a technical master’s after completing the bachelor’s program. Whether or not you can move on to the following TU/e master’s degree without barriers or under certain conditions depends on the courses that you take in your elective space:

See more information about these additional requirements and electives in our education guide.

What does the job market demand?

Of course, you can also enter the job market directly with a bachelor’s degree. With a diploma in technical innovation sciences, you are a highly sought-after candidate. More and more companies and other organizations need engineers who can make scientific connections between technology and (the consequences of) its application for people and society. They require engineers who can build bridges between completely different fields and between designers and users of technology. This bachelor’s degree will help you do just that!

Job opportunities

About a third of master’s graduates receive the offer to work at their graduation company. The rest find work elsewhere that fits well with this academic program within a short timeframe. Through the master’s program, you deepen your academic analytical knowledge and skills and you can specialize in a specific direction.

Depending on the master’s program that you choose after your bachelor’s, you can go to work in many kinds of professions. You will find graduates in all kinds of positions and in virtually all industries, both national and international.
