Within Sustainable Innovation I opted for Sustainable Energy.

I chose Sustainable Innovation because of my interest in sustainability. There are more studies available in the field of sustainability but Eindhoven was the only place where the study also has a strong technology aspect. What so appealed to me is that sustainability is the main theme and can be discussed from both a social and technological perspective.

Within Sustainable Innovation I have gone for Sustainable Energy. Energy is a key topic that borders sustainability very closely. It is also a direction that is more technology geared than the main subjects of the study, and that pleases me.

I have enjoyed my first year. The combination of the more social subjects and technology subjects makes for a well balanced package, in terms of both the subject content and subject opportunities. Moreover, the scope for electives within the study program literally offers me subjects that are aligned with my interests. I am also very positive about the amount of group work. Although it is not always easy to work in a group, I do learn a lot form working with others.

Besides my study, I am a member of the Thêta rowing association where I row. I also take part in the internal indoor soccer competition for all Eindhoven students played once a week during the lunch break. I also took up playing guitar recently and I play squash now and again.

What would me my tip for those about to choose a study? Take a good look at what your study involves because the most important thing is that it interests you. Ask senior students, for example, about the precise contents of the subjects. This will give you a good picture of the program!
