Mark van Roermund, alumnus Business Information Systems
'The area of tension between the university - representing science - and the business value, on which the business community focuses, is what I find extremely fascinating. That is why I chose to study Business Information Systems, and that is also why I specifically wanted to complete my studies in a practical setting.
Thanks to the involvement of Professor Wil van der Aalst, I ended up at Pallas Athena in Apeldoorn. That is where I complete my studies and where I now work as a product manager. Not only is it a fantastic company to work for, but the work is also equally challenging. When I started work there, Pallas Athena was working intensively on the integration of three software products (process modeling, workflow management and case management) within a single Business Process Management (BPM) Suite. It was both enjoyable and inspiring to be involved in this process from the inside out.'
