Then you need control engineering to drive the system. I thought this was very challenging research."MSc. Remco Mansvelders, alumnus
Even as a student, Remco Mansvelders was a practiced user of MATLAB. "A fantastic program, it has so many options." Now it's his job: he helps companies in the aviation and automotive industry in their use of MATLAB for The MathWorks in Gouda. Remco did his internship with a German software company and completed his final project at DAF.
"It costs extra effort to organize an internship or final project in the business community, but that interested me more than staying at the university." He describes Dynamical Systems Design as ‘the mathematical branch of mechanical engineering'. "Using models, you describe the dynamic behavior of systems, such as a robot arm, truck or a machine part. Then you need control engineering to drive the system. I thought this was very challenging research."
