Brabant Water - Heat and cold from drinking water
This SEB&C project investigates the thermal energy potential in the drinking water network. This is followed by development of a technique to extract the thermal energy from the drinking water network and to evaluate the business opportunities of such a system. The problem description of the project can be summarized as – “How to utilize the drinking water network as a source of thermal energy.”
This is accomplished by the following objectives:
1. Identify the suitable point(s) of energy extraction in the Drinking Water network
2. Propose suitable energy extraction techniques
3. Perform a technical and financial analysis of the technique
4. Front End Engineering design of the technique
This project was completed by Ram Ramachandra, January 2017.
