"For an accurate diagnosis, it’s important to get the best image quality out of your MRI scanner. One way to improve image quality is through developing better control units, which is what I’m working on. With this project, I can apply my background in telecommunications in an entirely different field, the medical device industry. This is very interesting – it opens new horizons and gives me more career options in the future.
After obtaining my MSc, I was looking for something like a PhD, but oriented to industry instead of academics. The EngD and its practical projects are exactly what I was looking for. I’d like to build a career in the medical device or communications industry. The EngD program has given me my first experience working in a company, which will be very useful for the future."
