Questions concerning the start of the new academic year

• Can I take online courses (virtual mobility) only at a university abroad (within and outside Europe)?

  TU/e does not recognize a complete online exchange as a replacement of the physical form of international experience. If you have to follow (some) online courses during your exchange period abroad in one of the countries that are allowed again, you must inform your departmental internationalization coordinator. Please note there are no grants or scholarships available for a complete virtual/online mobility (exchange or internship/graduation project) when staying in The Netherlands.

• What are the conditions for courses (exchange), internships and (graduate) research projects abroad?

  As of the academic year 2022/2023 you may again go abroad for courses, internships and (thesis) research projects. However, there are still conditions. Travel to countries with the color code red is not allowed. Travel to countries with the color code green, yellow and in some cases orange is allowed. • Will you return my fees if it turns out I was not able to arrive in the Netherlands in time for the start of the academic year?

   in order to inform the International Office that you will not be able to start in September/February.
  
  The amount of the guarantee fee and the proof of sufficient financial means, will be refunded in full if you cancel your enrolment at TU/e before 1 September/1 February.

  The following should be noted:

  • Once the application for your visa and/or residence permit has been submitted to the IND, we are required to pay the visa/residence permit fee to the IND. Therefore, this amount will be deducted from your guarantee fee.

  Yes. You can take an official free PCR Covid test and you can also get free Covid vaccination. For more information please check this official website.

• I have been tested by GGD and got the results. What to do now?

  If you have tested positive, you do not have to report it and the university will not hear about it. However, the GGD is not always able to do source and contact research anymore. Via the CoronaMelder you can warn people who have been in your neighbourhood. In the event of a negative test result, you are of course welcome on campus. If you still have visible symptoms, we ask you to consider others. They may be worried by frequent coughing, coughing or sneezing.
