From all submissions, 5 finalists were chosen to present their work in a pitch presentation. Mert competed on November 4th, 2022 for the 3rd ICMS PhD publication award in the cinema of TU/e’s ‘Zwarte Doos’.
Mert pitched his first author paper published in his first year as PhD, titled:

Self-regulating electrical rhythms with liquid crystal oligomer networks in hybrid circuitry” in the journal Soft Matter.

Besides winning the publication award, Mert received also the most popular pitch vote from the public!
To celebrate, the event closed festively with drinks and dinner.
CONGRATULATIONS MERT!

Mert is also invited to present in the ICMS symposium to be held in March 2023.
Mert said he “seeks to add the same vigor” to this event as he did in the ICMS PhD publication competition.
If you wish to see Mert in action, make sure to attend the symposium and witness his work yourself!
