Silence zones library reading room changed
Starting from the new academic year 2022-2023, the silence policy in the library reading room in MetaForum has been adjusted. A survey showed that library users experienced noise pollution and more so-called red study areas would therefore be needed.
Adjustments in numbers of workplaces:

Rules for each of the colour zones:
- Green: moderate voice noise
- Yellow: soft talking/whispering
- Red: complete silence
As of the new 2022-2023 academic year the floor arrangement will be:
- Floor -1: complete silence area.
- Floor 0: a combination of yellow (soft talking/ whispering) and red (complete silence area).
The silence policy has been modified in response to the results of a survey that was conducted among our users (students, staff and external users) in May 2022. Reason for the survey was to get clarity on the perception of noise pollution and how many workplaces would be needed in each zone of the library. With the changes now implemented we hope to meet the wishes of our library users.
