Evangelia Demerouti at top position in prestigious Elsevier ranking

November 29, 2021

In a recent ranking by Elsevier, Evangelia Demerouti of Human Performance Management group scores amongst the top 1% of the most cited scientists of TU/e, a formidable achievement.

Besides being a full professor in processes enabling performance, Evangelia Demerouti is also TU/e’s Chief Diversity Officer, a position in which she strives to enhance diversity at TU/e. When asked how she manages to combine both, she jokes: “Sometimes people think I only focus on diversity.” Then more serious: “I work very hard to solve the topic of my research. And to share my insights with society in the clearest possible ways. To be honest, I did not even know I was on this list, and it is not the most important to me. I chose not to be distracted by the achievements of other researchers. Also, because I know that being a woman and a psychologist and Greek I am not likely to be the first in line.”

Note: The Hirsch index or h-index is a subject-dependent index that measures the "career impact" of a scientific researcher's publications.
