MomenTUm: celebrating our graduates and teachers
The annual academic celebration for our students’ and teachers’ accomplishments is on September 28th and 29th, 2023.

We work hard but play hard too at our university. And playing hard is exactly what we plan to do during our annual academic celebration of the year: MomenTUm. On September 28 and 29, we celebrate last year’s 1400 plus bachelor’s graduates. Plus: we put a spotlight on our excellent educators by awarding prizes for the best bachelor and master teachers. Whether you’re a student or an employee: don’t miss out on MomenTUm 2023!

Thursday: Student party
We kick off the festivities on Thursday evening September 28 with the grand student party in the Forum (MetaForum). There’ll be food, drinks, live music, and lots of fellow students that are in the mood to play hard, after having gained their bachelor’s degree. Tickets for this party of the year are still available online.

Friday: Ceremony and show
The official part of the celebration takes place on Friday, September 29. There are two sessions, at 12.00 and 16.00h. They both come with intimate diploma ceremonies, followed by the famous Walk of Fame and cap throwing in MetaForum.
The presentation of the MomenTUm show in MetaForum lies in the capable hands of alumna Liselotte Graas. We’ll also welcome another alumnus to the stage: Max Aerts, CEO and founder of the company DENS. He’ll share his valuable lessons with the fresh graduates.
Best teachers
But, where would our students and graduates be without our excellent teachers? They’re the driving forces behind our excellent graduates and we honor them with our Best Teacher Awards. The 2023 Best Bachelor Teacher is revealed during the morning ceremony and the 2023 Best Master Teacher in the afternoon. This year, our students have nominated the following teachers:
Nominees Best Bachelor Teacher
- Ivo Filot, Chemical Engineering and Chemistry
