On January 15th, Emre Burak Boz joined the Membrane Materials and Processes (MMP) group as a PhD student at Eindhoven University of Technology.
Emre studied Materials Science and Nano Engineering at Sabanci University where he obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees. During his bachelor internship, he worked on polymer-based mechanochromic sensors to study complexation dynamics of synthetic polymers during micelle formation and genetically engineered biopolymers during virus-like particle formation in Wageningen University and Research, Netherlands. For his masters, he developed hierarchically porous carbon supports with metal-organic framework & graphene oxide hybrids to improve mass-transport within the catalyst layer of fuel cells.
At the TU/e, Emre will be working on the project “Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Electrocatalysts for Redox Flow Batteries”. The goal of this project is to enhance battery performance and durability through surface engineering of porous electrodes.
