“Investing in the quality of your course”

Hans Kuerten, teacher

“I am redesigning my course so pre-master students can take it entirely online, in a different quartile than it is usually taught. Open Educational Resources are a great addition: useful, high-quality materials, usually developed by other universities. I have often found inspiring material on YouTube. Why not just share what I find?”

“We also want to add the materials to the regular course. Different media address different learning styles, making wonderful reference material. The face-to-face lecture inspires students and the additional materials reinforce their knowledge.”

Tips and tricks

“Just get started! Any type of course can benefit from OER. You can apply for some money to hire student assistants to help you. They will save you a lot of time and have enough background knowledge to judge if what they find is actually good. It is an investment that will pay off.”
