When the admission to the PhD program is done after 1 September 2021, the defense ceremony will take place according to the regulations 2021.

The Doctorate Board has decided to amend the Regulations governing the conferral of doctor’s degrees, with effect from 1 September.

The new regulations introduces the obligation for doctoral candidates to register in Hora Finita before taking a doctor’s degree. The use of Hora Finita is mentioned several times in the text.
Also the obligation is introduced for doctoral candidates who want to do a double or joint doctorate or a joint supervision doctorate to upload the agreement between TU/e and the other university concerned in Hora Finita as soon as it is signed.
By introducing this rule these candidates are known in an early stage of their special trajectory.

The possibility to use Forms 1 outside Hora Finita is terminated as of 1 September 2021.
