Are we really made out of clay?

Vasileios Trikalitis

Vasileios has a B.Sc in Material Science from University of Patras, Greece, a M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering specialized in Tissue regeneration , and now conducts his PhD on 3D printing vascularized cardiac tissue, in the Vascularization Lab of Jeroen Rouwkema in University of Twente. He also works as a product developer in IamFluidics B.V. and is a founder and director of the Authentia Foundation.
His first contact with 3D printing was on the Greek beaches where as a kid he made sand castles with his parents. Now 24 years later, he applies those useful skills of sandcastle building, in creating artificial environments for cells to grow into vascular networks. In his spare time he likes to 3D print Nutella artwork onto pancakes.
