Eindhoven University of Technology wants to be an organization where students, employees and guests feel at home. A place where everyone can achieve great results in a safe and inspiring environment. Therefore we introduce theater performance Mindlab.

After 3 successful online performances on February 24 and 25, 2022, there will be live performances for TU/e staff from July 4 till 8, 2022. Afterwards there will be follow-up conversations in the Mindlab Foyer. View the performance dates and press the sign up button to register for one of the live performances.

The performance makes you reflect! It is a magnifier of the dynamics within the university. The performance addresses the most current themes within the institution 'the university': scientific integrity, leadership, social safety and balance between research and education. Important themes that we will discuss in 2022. The goal is to initiate a change in order to create that safe and inspiring environment together.

About Mindlab

Mindlab goes to the very heart of science and academia and deals with fact-finding, value and truthfulness within the institution of ‘the university’. It is a science fiction thriller that could happen to all of us if we were to dare to live our own truth as well as the impact of our actions with complete transparency. What happens once cognitive dissonance reduction has left our mind... Veni, Vidi, Vici?

You’re not who you think you are. You are what you do.

Wanted: Participants who dare to take on the experiment

'It is an intriguing, confronting play. Lifelike!'
Robert van der Drift, managing director of the department Mathematics & Computer Science

Mindlab at TU/e

Mindlab is developed by TheaterMakers Radio Kootwijk and is in part based on interviews with staff members of the University of Twente and Utrecht University. Early 2020 the theater performance premiered with tremendous success, with guests from Twente and Utrecht. Audience responses ranged from ‘impressive’ and ‘it really does trigger you to reflect and have discussions with people’ to ‘very relatable’ and ‘gripping’. Now it is TU/e's turn. After 3 successful online performances for TU/e staff on February 24 and 25, 2022, there will be live performances from July 4 till 8, 2022. Afterwards there will be follow-up conversations in the Mindlab Foyer. View the performance dates and press the sign up button to register for one of the live performances at TU/e.

‘Mindlab sharply illustrates that social safety and scientific integrity are essential to conducting high quality research and teaching.’

TU/e Executive Board,
Robert-Jan Smits, Frank Baaijens and Nicole Ummelen
