TU/e Campus‘The Paradox of Diversity’
The TU/e warmly invites all students and staff to join the workshops and events during the Diversity Week. We would like to encourage all the members of our community to have open conversations about the Paradox of Diversity. Why does diversity apply to everyone? How can a diverse team make space for more understanding towards each other? Our goal is to not only let our minority groups share their thoughts on the topic of diversity, inclusion, social safety and mental health, but to include everyone. This way we hope that we all truly feel part of the discussion and feel welcome in our community by openly engaging in the discussion of these themes.
Throughout the week there will be a mixture of workshops, talks, plays and festivities to embrace and celebrate diversity on our campus. Below you can find the overview and information of all events. Note: all activities are free of charge except for the closing celebration on the 11th.
For those of you who have further ideas on diversity and inclusion, feel free to email Lara Hofstra – Student wellbeing / Diversity officer (diversity@) tue.nl
We hope to see many of you at the events!

On September 13th, 2022, Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian girl, was arrested by the morality police in Tehran. She was arrested due to her failure to dress following the women's dress code of the Islamic Republic, and she was killed after being beaten by police officers while in custody. The news of her murder, related to the mandatory hijab, caused massive protests all over Iran. Millions of angry Iranians have come to the streets to protest against the murder of a young girl and the violation of women's rights. By restricting and shutting down the Internet, the Islamic republic intends to prevent the voices of the protesters from being heard worldwide. | The TU/e Iranian community | All students and Staff | 12.30-13.30 | Atlas ground floor North side |
