Atlas 08.20TU/e International Women’s Day program
This year’s theme for International Women’s Day is “Pushing the limits for a livable world". How can we bring about a future without climate change, ecological breakdown, pandemics, scarcity, war, discrimination and other threats to a humane and equal living society? How can we create a world where 'livability is limitless'?
Join us for an inspiring event, with talks and interviews with female TU/e students, staff and alumnae who are working towards a better world.
Some of our key speakers:
- Dan Jing Wu, a biomedical engineer who is working towards an innovation in breast tissue regeneration and breast reconstructive surgery as CEO of VivArt-X;
- Maureen van Eijnatten, a Irène Curie fellow who is working on artificial intelligence in clinical applications;
- Kjille Hoeben, CEO of Purplexus BV, working on improving the health and performance of athletes;
- Esther Cramer, PhD student and top beach volleyball player;
- Eefje Cuppen, director of the Rathenau institute, researching the impact of science on society.
As part of the event, the Iranian community at TU/e will present a special program to shed light on the situation of women in Iran.

16.05 – 16.10 | Word of welcome by Robert-Jan Smits, President of the Executive Board TU/e. |
16.15 – 16.45 | Program by Bart Smolders and the Iranian Community to shed light on the situation of women in Iran. |
16.45 – 17.00 | Presentation by Dan Jing Wu |
17.00 – 17.15 | Let’s get active and join our Kahoot quiz on the topics healthcare, society, innovation and much more! |
17.15 – 17.30 | Presentation by Maureen van Eijnatten |
17.30 – 17.55 | Double interview with Kjille Hoeben CEO startup myTemp and winner Marina van Damme Grant 2021 and Esther Cramer PhD student & top beach volleyball player. |
17.55 – 18.00 | Closure of the first part of the event. |
