Professor Craig Hawker

Our special guest is the new honorary doctor prof. Craig Hawker. His research has focused on the interface between organic and polymer chemistry, with emphasis on the design, synthesis, and application of well-defined macromolecular structures in biotechnology, microelectronics, and surface science. Hawker holds more than 45 U.S. patents and he has co-authored over 300 papers in the areas of nanotechnology, materials science, and chemistry. He was listed as one of the top 100 most cited chemists worldwide in the last decades. He and a colleague invented Olaplex, a successful commercial product designed to relink hair bonds and help reduce hair breakage.

TU/e Science Awards

With these awards, we celebrate scientists in different categories: Young researcher, Groundbreaking research, Leadership in excellence, and the best team performance. A Science Award is also available for the best EngD thesis, and the best PhD thesis. The winners of 2023 will be announced during the ceremony of the Research Day.

In addition to the Science Awards, TU/e also awards an audience winner. Whose research or which researcher appeals the most to you? Make this known by voting for your favorite candidate as of May 29.

For PhD's and EngD's

In the morning we have the PhD/EngD pitch event 'Talking Science': a science pitching competition for TU/e PhD and EngD researchers.

For PhD's and EngDs of TU/e, the day will be ended with a party! The theme is Explore the World, the time 19:00 - 00:00 and the location: University Club, Atlas building. Read more
