The TU/e Research Day is a festive event in which we celebrate science. The three honorary doctorates of 2021 are the stars of the day. After a joint lunch, we start with a college tour between our guests of honor, the rector, and our young scientists. Ask the honorary doctorates all you want to know about their way to excellence! Which hurdles did they face and more importantly, how did they overcome them? The next part is a networking event, in which you can get into contact with Top Science @TU/e. The final part is the academic ceremony, in which the three honorary doctorates give a short presentation followed by the decoration ceremony. We will close this day with the TU/e Science Awards ceremony. Who is our best young researcher, ground-breaking researcher, and who wins the leadership in excellence award?
All students and staff are welcome to join us in the Auditorium this afternoon, to learn and experience the way to excellence in science.
Register now or read more about the program below.
Honorary doctorates in the spotlights
In our Lustrum year 2021, three professors from prestigious American universities received an honorary doctorate from TU/e: computational mathematician Prof. Margot Gerritsen (Stanford University), chemical engineer Prof. Klavs Jensen (MIT), and biomedical engineer Prof. David Mooney (Harvard University). Due to the corona crisis, we have not been able to give them their decorations in 2021. In 2022, we will make up for this on the TU/e Research Day!
