Kick off: Artificial Intelligence in the Real World: Where are the Driverless Cars?

With the recent launch of EAISI (The Eindhoven AI Systems Institute), TU/e wants to use its traditional specialism in data, high-tech and embedded systems to leverage the current transition of AI towards real-world systems. When AI reaches health systems, high-tech machines or cars, other rules apply than in the case of cyber-only systems. Carlo van de Weijer will explain from his background in the automotive and mobility industry what happens if AI touches the real world of cars. The hyped introduction of self-driving cars should already have disrupted the entire car industry but there appears to be some delay in the machine.
