Photoacoustics & Ultrasound Laboratory Eindhoven

In the PULS/e lab, we aim to improve clinical decision making (diagnosis, monitoring, treatment planning) based on non-invasive imaging with sound and light.

Advanced ultrasound image acquisition and functional imaging techniques are developed to visualize and characterize properties and function of organs, whereas with photoacoustic imaging tissue morphology is assessed (molecular imaging). Moreover, these data are used to create patient-specific models (digital twins) to assess e.g. the mechanical state of diseased arteries.
