Valorization

We aim to be leading in the responsible and effective development and implementation of technology for industry and society and in addressing the grand societal challenges. Therefore, valorization is of utmost importance to us. Valorization activities are undertaken for stakeholders such as policy makers, the industry, organizations of professionals, the general public, students and life-long learners. Valorization – working with and for our stakeholders – is in our DNA, as witnessed by the fact that researchers of all ranks work with companies and societal organisations, and by the large portfolio of projects we perform in collaboration with non-academic partners.

In particular, we want to be leading for the following research themes:

Valorization communities

To enable a structural two-way interaction with the relevant stakeholders per research theme, we invest in valorization communities. Our department leads and hosts the following two communities:

Further, we are partner of multiple other communities, in which we create impact with our research. More information on these communities can be found on the webpages of the research themes.

To promote valorization, the department organizes a yearly IE&IS Valorization Prize competition. The award is granted to an IE&IS research team that created a large impact with a recent research project. Generally, extra efforts are required to bring the research and its insights to the relevant stakeholders. The IE&IS Valorization Prize consists of a plaque and a cash award of 5000 Euro.
