EventPad presented on Black Hat USA
Last week, Black Hat USA took place. Next to DefCon, this is the world’s leading information security event, providing attendees with the very latest in research, development and trends. PhD candidate Bram Cappers was there to present his EventPad system to the 15,000 attendees of the event.
EventPad enables users to visualize multivariate event sequences such as hospital treatment data, telecommunication traffic, and server logs for the discovery of patterns. The wide variety in event properties and sequences however makes the discovery of (un)desired patterns difficult. In Eventpad patterns become visible by highlighting, filtering and sorting the data using conditional formatting and pattern matching techniques.
Bram Cappers: “We are very proud that we were given the opportunity to present EventPad on Black Hat USA. Every year, 1000 applications are made to speak on this event. Of these, only 100 are selected.”
