Ten journals in the field of ‘high energy physics’ are converted to full open access for a period of three years. These are journals from various publishers as Elsevier, Springer and IOP. This initiative by CERN, which has been named SCOAP3, is supported by TU/e and other Dutch universities.
Between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2019 all authors may publish free of charge in the following journals
- Acta Physica Polonica B
- Advances in High Energy Physics
- Chinese Physics C
- European Physical Journal C
- Journal of High Energy Physics
- Nuclear Physics B
- Physics Letters B
- Progress of Theoretical and experimental Physics
From 1 January 2018 this list will be expanded with:
- Physical Review C
- Physical Review D
- Physical Review Letters
SCOAP3 centrally pays publishers from a common fund at CERN, to which libraries, library consortia, research institutions and funding agencies jointly contribute. Publishing in open access is free for all authors. Therefore, no special steps are required to make you article open access. Just submit your article as you would normally do and upon acceptance it will automatically be made available free of charge.
If you have any further questions please contact the IEC Open Access desk.
