FAQ Mendeley and search databases

1. I get a notification to login into the database (e.g., Scopus). How do I login? 

Always access the databases via the TU/e database list. You can find it through this link

If you are outside the TU/e campus, use the proxy server, see this page or use a VPN connection (option 1 “tunnel all traffic”). 

2. How can I create an account in Mendeley? 

Create an account with your TU/e email address at https://www.mendeley.com. Do not use the option “Sign in via your institution”. After creating your account, you can download Mendeley desktop here.

3. I already created an account in Mendeley, but I am not able to use Mendeley Desktop. How can I solve the problem? 

If you have already an account on an Elsevier product (e.g., Scopus) it is possible that you are not able to use Mendeley desktop. You can create a new account with another email address (e.g., Gmail). Do not use the option “Sign in via your institution”. After creating your account, you can download Mendeley desktop here.  

4. I am having issues with the Mendeley web importer/Word plugin, or another topic related to Mendeley. What can I do to resolve this?
