Each year, TU/e staff members produce a wealth of publications. Mostly in the form of journal articles, but often also as separate publications as textbooks, dissertations, scientific reports, conference proceedings and yearly reports. It is recommended to have such separate publications officially registered through an ISBN number (International Standard Book Number).

Application for an ISBN

To apply for an ISBN for your dissertation please complete the form ISBN application TU/e dissertation. Including a copy of the title page is required.
Staff members can find more information about application for an ISBN on the intranet / Information Expertise Center.

Benefits

By assigning international registration numbers (ISBN) to publications, these are made easily traceable through both national and international channels. Publications carrying ISBNs are included in the national bibliography of Dutch publications, 'Brinkman's Cumulatieve Catalogus'. In many catalogues and bibliographies, book titles may be found using the ISBN as search key.
