Ice-skating for just E2,50

Each Tuesday and Thursday sports card holders can go ice-skating between 20h00-22h00 at the IJssportcentrum Eindhoven for just E2,50 instead of E7,00-. If you show your sports card with the 'schaatspas' at the entrance, you get the reduction. You can get the 'schaatspas' at the SSC info counter. The IJssportcentrum Eindhoven will be open from the 11th of October.

Team NL Talentday

On Sunday the 24th of November TeamNL again organizes the Olympic Talentday. The NOC*NSF Talent days are focused on the proces of talent identification. The Talentday is for young people between 12 and 18 years old, who have a certain physical sport profile, want to get the most out of themselves and not yet practice the present sports. The participating sports are divided into three profiles based on characteristics: Long & StrongExplosive & Fast  and Endurance.

At the end of the NOC*NSF Talenday, the results of the test are carefully studied, discussed and eventually analysed on the basis of a number of criteria. On this basis, an association decides whether to invite you to for a follow-up day, where further knowledge of this sport can be made. Both the athlete and the association view and discuss the possibilities and route to the training program of the association during this day.

Exams in the Student Sports Centre: changed class schedule

Due to the ongoing student growth at the TU/e, the university has urgently asked the SSC to house exams in the sports halls. Even though this has not our preference and is disruptive for our class program, we do want to help our colleagues of ESA, Exam commission and Education commission; we are of course one university! It's also in the interest of the student to work together; housing exams in the SSC can prevent many exams in the evening or at night. Use of our sports facilities for exams in the evening or at night will not happen, also not in the future!

To help the TU/e out, we open up during the two exam weeks Sports Halls 1 to 3. Thanks to the cooperation of some of our student sports associations and the sublime extra effort of our own staff we have managed to keep our class schedule as much intact as possible. On top of that we also offer alternative classes and facilities. Thanks in advance for your understanding!

Changes from 28 October – 10 November 2019

New info system launched!

The new information system is online! This means that it is possible again to log in and reserve facilities. This new info system will make it easier to reserve facilities, renew your subscription, manage your data and have a clearer oversight of all courses. We will already guide you a bit more around the new system.

Log in to the new system
When you click on ‘log in sports card owner’, you will see a whole new setting. On the right you see the logos of TU/e and Fontys. As a sports card holder you can log in with the login data of your educational institution, which is linked to your sport card. If you are not connected to TU/e or Fontys, then please first register yourself at the SSC info counter. After registering you can sign up with your mail address and password.

Personal page

After logging in you see your personal page. In the top right corner you see some options; you can reserve facilities (Bookings), renew your subscription (What’s on offer) and manage your personal data (Profile).

Bookings

Within the page ‘Bookings’ you have multiple options. When you click on bookings you will enter the first page (add a booking) where you can select and reserve facilities. Next to the option ‘Add a booking’ you can find the option ‘racketsport’. Via this page you can reserve squash- and tennis courts.

Questions?

When you have any problems or questions you can always contact us at sciinfo@tue.nl or ask your question at the info desk.

TU/e Running Team

The TU/e running team provides a low threshold opportunity to participate in the different distances during the Marathon Eindhoven on Sunday, October 13th. For €5 you will receive a BIB number for your desired distance,  you will receive a TU/e Running Shirt and on the day itself it is possible to use our facilities in Dynamo. More information you can find here

Smoke free zone

From 7 January the SSC has become a smoke free area, with the exception of one designated smoking area. This means that smoking on the canteen- and tennis pavilion terrace and in front of the entrance is no longer allowed. Smokers can light up a cigarette at the designated smokers zone next to the terrace underneath the trees. Next to the ‘smokers’ pole’ you are allowed to light up a cigarette.

Making the SSC a smoke free zone is a consequence of the ambition of the TU/e to make the whole campus smoke-free. By enlarging the smoke-free area, we turn the SSC in an even healthier environment and almost annihilate the chances of passive smoking. Thanks in advance!
