Actively involving people with dementia in technology design

Our aim

There are over 50 million people living with dementia today and this number is still increasing (WHO, 2017). Although there are promising benefits of supportive technology in dementia care, use of these systems is still limited. It is a challenge for researchers and developers in this field to fully understand the changing needs of people with dementia. There is surprisingly little knowledge about the specific research methods and materials needed for co-design with people with dementia. This project focusses on how people with dementia and their informal caregivers can meaningfully participate in technology development.
