About Mechatronic Systems Design
The Dutch mechatronics ecosystem is rapidly changing into a high-tech sector with huge challenges in terms of multidisciplinary product and process design and engineering. Eindhoven University of Technology plays an important role within the high-tech industry especially within the Brainport region. For this reason, the TU/e started the TU/e High Tech Systems Center (HTSC) as one of the strategic innovation areas and top research center.
This research center aims to understand, teach and innovate system synthesis and design of complex equipment, instruments, robotic and manufacturing systems and systems-of-systems. The HTSC combines in-depth understanding of the classical engineering fields, with multidisciplinary, model based systems engineering to conceive, predict and verify cutting-edge system functionalities and architecture, and started this PDEng program on design for high-tech systems, Mechatronic Systems Design. This program is recognized as a track under the PDEng program Automotive Systems Design (ASD) by the CCTO, the Dutch certification committee for technological designer programs.
This program is executed by research groups from four different departments (Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics & Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering) of TU/e in the context of the 4TU.School for Technological Design, Stan Ackermans Institute.
